I pray that one day we will live as one. For now, we simply look at one another come down the street, and let each other pass by without any form of acknowledgment. We each behave as if the other is invisible, as if we cannot see them. An outside observer might note that it is as if we live in two separate worlds, side by side. Why did we stop talking to each other? How can we begin again to talk... but also... How can our sense of unity be reignited? Instead of seeing one another as Black and White with a split down the center, how can we reclaim our sense of "we-ness"? |
