Earth Angels

Born in the Bronx and now residing in Philadelphia, PA, Elana Felice Stanger, L.C.S.W. works in the field of building intercultural unity. The creator of beautiful, powerful, and thought-provoking artwork intended to stimulate a national as well as global dialogue to support humanity, Stanger is committed to bringing justice, peace, and harmony to our world. Spending more than 20 years as a dialogue facilitator, diversity consultant, social justice artist, activist and healer, she holds two Master’s Degrees, one in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University and one in Social Work from CUNY/Hunter College School of Social Work. Her journey began when she founded an organization, Students for an Interracial Dialogue (SID), on her college campus as a senior student. At age 25, she opened an art gallery in New Orleans, Diver*City Intercultural Art Gallery, touching many lives with her message of peace, hope and love, through her art to touch the heart. Her work was recognized by The Times-Picayune Newspaper and featured on television. Stanger makes available prints of her artwork, as well as additional products, on her website: www.DiversityArts.com. She writes a blog, The Love Letter, and her videos may also be streamed online. Her art was featured at the White Privilege Conference where she spoke alongside other leaders in the field of human diversity. She presented her art to Cornel West, and was photographed with the late Manning Marable beside her artwork. As a licensed clinical social worker, Stanger leads workshops using the expressive arts to inspire creativity and healing. Her first book, My Heart Goes Out to You: The Art of Building Intercultural Unity, is a true work of heart. She will soon begin┬áto perform Unity Theater: www.UnityTheater.org, a musical theatre and dialogue experience interweaving her art and music to promote health and well-being, healing for social oppression, civic engagement and community empowerment.
